Applicazioni

Platelet-poor Plasma Derived Serum, bovine is used in platelet aggregation studies to both adjust the Platelet-rich plasma concentration as well as to serve as a control. It finds application in clinical studies such as blood management, orthopedic surgery and cosmetic surgery.

Note

Requires sterilization by filtration before use in cell cultures. Platelet-Poor Plasma Derived Serum is prepared from fresh, citrated bovine plasma, heat inactivated at 56°C for 30 minutes. Residual platelets are removed by high-speed centrifugation (20,000 x g) and the plasma defibrinated by the addition of excess CaCl2. The clot is removed by centrifugation and plasma dialyzed extensively against physiological saline.Store in a cool place. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
