Magnesium stearate is involved in the production of medical tablets, capsules, powders and polymer formulation. It is also used as a lubricant for tablets, anti-adherent, in dry coating and as a binding agent. It is an important ingredient in baby formulas. Further, it is used in the hydrogenation process. In addition to this, it is used to bind the sugar in hard candies like mints.
